Phrase Based Communication Book (GLP)
An updated version of our Gestalt Language Processing Communication Book - New for 2026
This communication book has been designed to support interaction and communication for Gestalt Language Processors (GLP).
It is organised both pragmatically and semantically to provide access to both phrase based and single word vocabulary - perfect for individuals identified as being dual language processors (Gestalt and Analytical) or those moving beyond Stage 2 of the Natural Language Acquisition framework.
This communication book has 12 pages in total which include:
Chat (greetings and attention gaining)
Joy (positive emotions and preferences)
Protests (negative emotions and self-advocating)

The same 10 key messages can be found on the left hand side of each page to provide consistent access to language and reduce motor planning demands. These key messages are accompanied by topic specific phrases or words that relate to the page.

Assembly Instructions: Cut around the outlines of the bottom of each page to create tabs that can be used to navigate the communication book. Colour coding utilised for each page with a corresponding navigation icon on the first page. Hole punch the white space at the top of each page and tie together with metal rings or cable ties.
Please note that this communication book contains examples of phrases that can be modelled to support the language development of individuals identified as Gestalt Language Processors. Gestalts are units of language that have a deep connection for the individual that uses them. It cannot be assumed that the phrases contained within this communication book will resonate with all individuals identified as Gestalt Language Processors.
